WGG – G caterpillar drilling rig It is a machine designed for:
– drilling small-diameter holes with a maximum diameter of Ø300 mm, used in the study of the geological cross-section of the soil,
– drilling in the steel pipe cast (piezometers).
Holes may be made in soils of categories I to IV with the use of cutting or screw heads adapted to the type of soil. The drilling rig is mounted on a caterpillar carrier and has its own internal combustion engine powering the entire hydraulic system, which makes it an independent mobile unit. Below we present a drilling rig equipped with a two-speed drill, pipe clamp and adaptation to the probe. The machine has additional advantages like caterpillars extend out to the side, facilitating movement on sloping terrain, as well as remote control of the ride, which will certainly improve the operator’s comfort and enable work in hard-to-reach places.
The drilling rig in the photos Nos. 12, 13, 14, 15 was equipped with wheels for driving on the tracks and a rotating caterpillar carrier, thanks to which it is possible to drill boreholes on the outer sides of the tracks.
